 I need to open more ports than the standard ones. How can I do this?
Solution In order to add more ports for your VPS, here's a little "howto":

We will open port 26 for example. This will allow you to run exim on another port:

Edit the file /etc/csf/csf.conf

We will have to open both, outbound and inbound traffic, so we will add the port number.

Search for the following line:

# Common ingress (inbound) TCP ports
TCP_IN = "20,21,22,25,53,80,110,111,137,138,139,143,443,465,901,993,995,2049,2077,2078,2082,2083,2086,2087,2095,2096,61001:65535"

Then add the port number 26. Be sure to include a comma to separate each port. Next, we will open the outbound port:

# Common egress (outbound) TCP ports
TCP_OUT="21,22,25,27,37,43,53,80,110,113,443,465,873,2089,3599"

Again, add port 26 followed by a comma to separate ports. After this, close and save the file. Restart CSF firewall:

/etc/init.d/csf restart

And presto! That should do it. Test the connection, and if after all those steps, the port still is blocked, contact us!
